Sooah Kwak is a researcher and artist whose work examines the making of meaningful and socially purposeful archives. The underpinning concepts of her work are broadly at the intersection of environmental humanities, oral history, and multispecies ethnography. Her current research is on leprosy settlement villages in Korea and the landmines near the DMZ.

Sooah is assisting with research at the American Museum of Natural History and the Museum of Reclaimed Urban Space. Previously, she worked on project Eternal Testimony, an AI archive of Korean “comfort women” oral histories. Sooah holds an MA in Museum Anthropology from Columbia University and a BAS in Art and Technology from Sogang University. Creative projects have been exhibited in Korea, the UK, and the US.
